Principal Profile
Dr. Kishor B. Porate is an accomplished academic leader, researcher, and administrator with more than 36 years of extensive experience in engineering education, research, and institutional development. He is presently serving as the Principal of Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering and Technology and is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development among students and faculty.
Dr. Kishor B. Porate holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, with specialization in "Thermal Power Plants, Transmission Network Management, Voltage Security, and Environmental Constraints". He also possesses qualifications including B.E. (Electrical Engineering), M.E. (Electrical Power System), and PG Diploma in Computer Science, reflecting his strong academic foundation and multidisciplinary expertise.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Kishor B. Porate has served in several prestigious academic and administrative positions, including Professor, Dean Academics, Head of Department, and Controller of Examinations at reputed engineering institutions. His leadership experience has significantly contributed to curriculum development, academic reforms, quality assurance, accreditation processes, and institutional growth.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Kishor B. Porate has authored and co-authored more than 70 research publications in reputed national and international journals and conferences, including SCI-indexed publications. His research interests include Electrical Power Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, Electrical Drives, Smart Grid Technologies, Energy Management, Electric Vehicles, and Power Quality Improvement. He is also an approved Ph.D. Supervisor and has successfully guided doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate research projects.
Dr. Kishor B. Porate has received recognition for his academic contributions, including the Best Teacher Award, and has actively participated as a session chair, reviewer, keynote speaker, and expert member in various national and international conferences. He has also contributed to technical education through curriculum design, faculty development programs, industry interaction, consultancy services, and laboratory development supported by AICTE-funded projects.
